Informatica Analyst Assets
You can manage assets within some workspaces. An asset is a type of object that you use to support business operations within the enterprise.
For example, a profile is an asset that an analyst can create to discover the content, quality, and structure of a data source.
You can create the following types of assets:
- Glossary assets
- Create Glossary assets in the Glossary workspace. You can create the following types of Glossary assets:
- - Business term. A word or phrase that uses business language to define relevant concepts for business users in an organization.
- - Category. A descriptive classification of business terms and policies.
- - Glossary. A collection of categories, business terms, and policies.
- - Policy. The business purpose, process, or protocol that governs business practices that are related to business terms.
- Discovery assets
- Create Discovery assets in the Discovery workspace. You can create the following types of Discovery assets:
- - Data object profile. A profile that discovers column characteristics and data domains.
- - Enterprise discovery profile. A profile that performs discovery on multiple data sources and generates a consolidated results summary.
- - Flat file data object. A representation of data based on a flat file.
- - Table data object. A representation of data based on a relational table.
- Design assets
- Create Design assets in the Design workspace. You can create the following types of Design assets:
- - Mapping specification. A template that describes the movement and transformation of data from a source to a target.
- - Reference table. A table that contains standard and alternative versions of a set of data values.
- - Rule definition. The logic that you define to generate a rule.
- Scorecards assets
- Open scorecard assets in the Scorecards workspace. A scorecard is a graphical representation of the quality measurements in a profile.
