Glossary assets

Create Glossary assets in the Glossary workspace. You can create the following types of Glossary assets:

• - Business term. A word or phrase that uses business language to define relevant concepts for business users in an organization.
• - Category. A descriptive classification of business terms and policies.
• - Glossary. A collection of categories, business terms, and policies.
• - Policy. The business purpose, process, or protocol that governs business practices that are related to business terms.

Discovery assets

Create Discovery assets in the Discovery workspace. You can create the following types of Discovery assets:

• - Data object profile. A profile that discovers column characteristics and data domains.
• - Enterprise discovery profile. A profile that performs discovery on multiple data sources and generates a consolidated results summary.
• - Flat file data object. A representation of data based on a flat file.
• - Table data object. A representation of data based on a relational table.

Design assets

Create Design assets in the Design workspace. You can create the following types of Design assets:

• - Mapping specification. A template that describes the movement and transformation of data from a source to a target.
• - Reference table. A table that contains standard and alternative versions of a set of data values.
• - Rule definition. The logic that you define to generate a rule.

Scorecards assets

Open scorecard assets in the Scorecards workspace. A scorecard is a graphical representation of the quality measurements in a profile.
