Browse the Asset List

After you choose a way to look up assets from the Library Navigator, you can view a list of assets in the asset list. You can browse the asset list to find the asset that you want to view.
You can sort or group the list based on different options. You can apply filter conditions to find the assets that you want to view.

Summary of Asset Details

You can expand the asset in the asset list to view a summary of the asset details.
Click the arrow in the name field to view details such as name, description, user who created the asset, and the timestamp for the last modification. For business terms, categories, and policies, you can also view the phase, state, and the glossary associated with the asset. Click the arrow again to hide the summary.

Sort Assets

You can sort the collection of assets in the asset list to view specific assets or asset details.
For example, as a data steward, you want to view the changes to an asset made in the last one hour. Sort the assets based on the last modified date and find the asset. You can open the asset and view the audit trail in the Glossary workspace.
You can sort assets using any of the following options:

Group Assets

Use group by options to group the collection of assets in the asset list.
The following table describes the options you can use to group assets:
Option
Description
None
Lists all objects without grouping.
Type
Type of the asset. For example, you can specify business terms, glossaries, categories, and policies.
Created By
Name of the user who created the asset.
Last Updated
Date on which the asset was last updated. You can group assets by one of the following options:
  • - Past 1 hour
  • - Past 24 hours
  • - Past week
  • - Past month
  • - Past year
  • - From the beginning

Filter Assets

You can apply filters from the Filter panel to reduce the number of assets in the list based on the filter properties that you choose.
You can hide the Filter panel if you do not need to add filters.
You can filter the asset list by time period and user names to refine it. You can also enter a search string in the Find box to refine the list.
In addition, for business terms, categories, and policy assets, you can select the asset state properties.
All assets that you have the privilege to access and that satisfy the filter conditions are listed in the asset list.

Search Filter Properties

You can apply filters to search for an assets in the search results.
The following table describes the filter properties:

Find
A search expression to filter assets in the asset list. You can use enter keywords or keyword phrases as the search expression.
You can use the * and ? wildcard characters in a search to represent characters in the search string. Ensure that you do not use the * character at the beginning of the search string and that you use the wildcard character with at least one other character.
Use the + operator to include both search terms. Use space to include either one of the search terms. Ensure that there is no extra space between the operator and the search term. For example, enter +customer and not + customer.
Use quotes to search for the exact search string. For example, if the search term contains a special character, you can enclose the term within quotes for an exact match.
Time (Last Updated)
Time that the asset was last updated. You can select the following times:
  • - From the beginning
  • - Past 1 hour
  • - Past 24 hours
  • - Past week
  • - Past month
  • - Past year
Created By
Name of the user who created at least one asset in the asset list. Select All to select all users.

Asset State Properties

Glossary content managers me can specify filter properties for business terms, categories, and policies based on the state of the asset in the Asset State section.
Objects that you have the privilege to access are listed in the filtered asset list.
The following table describes the asset state filter properties:

Status
Filters objects based on the status of the asset. You can select any of the following values:
  • - All. Include all objects of the asset type.
  • - Active. Include all active objects of the asset type.
  • - Inactive. Include all inactive objects of the asset type.
Phase
Filters objects based on the phase of the object in the review lifecycle. You can select any of the following values:
  • - All. Include all objects of the asset type.
  • - Draft. Include all objects that are in draft state.
  • - In Review. Include all objects that are in review.
  • - Rejected. Include all objects that are rejected.
  • - Published. Include all objects that are published.
Note: Glossary consumers can view only published Glossary assets.
