Analyst Tool Reference Tables Overview
A reference table contains the standard versions of a set of data values and alternative versions of the values that might occur in business data. Use reference tables in profiles or mapping specifications in the Analyst tool.
You can create reference tables in the Analyst tool with the Reference Table Editor. You can manually configure a reference table in the Analyst tool. Define the column attributes and add data to the table.
You can create a reference table from a profile column or a subset of the profile column. When you create a reference table from a profile column, you can select the column values you want to use. You can also create a reference table from the column patterns that you choose from a profile.
You can create a reference table from a flat file. When you choose the flat file, you configure the properties that define the columns in the record. The file might contain delimiters, column names, or text qualifiers, such as single or double quotes.
You can create a reference table from a database table.
