Running an Enterprise Discovery Profile in the Analyst Tool

You can run column profile and data domain discovery as part of enterprise discovery in the Analyst tool.
    1. In the Discovery Home panel, select Enterprise Discovery Profile.
    The New Enterprise Discovery Profile wizard appears.
    2. Enter a name for the profile and an optional description.
    3. Verify the project location. If required, browse to another location.
    4. Click Next.
    The Select Data Objects tab appears.
    5. If you selected a data object from the Model repository, its name appears under the Data objects selected section. Click Choose to select more data objects, if required.
    6. Click Next to open the Select Resources tab.
    You can import data from multiple relational data sources.
    7. Click Choose to open the Choose Resources dialog box.
    The left pane in the dialog box lists all the internal and external connections, schemas, tables, and views under the Informatica domain.
    8. Select the connections, schemas, tables, and views that you want to include in the enterprise discovery profile.
    9. Click Save to save the changes and close the dialog box.
    10. Click Next.
    The Specify Discovery Settings tab appears. You can configure the column profile options and data domain discovery options on the Specify Discovery Settings page.
    11. Select Enable data domain discovery to discover data domains in the source data.
    12. Click Choose to select data domains that you want to discover.
    The Choose data domains dialog box appears.
    13. Select the required data domains, and Click OK.
    14. Configure the column profile options including the number of rows the profile runs on.
    15. Click Save & Run at the top of the Specify Discovery Settings tab.
    You can see a status message that the profile run is in progress. After the profile run, you can then view the enterprise discovery results under the Summary and Profiles tabs.
