Task 1. Create a Custom Profile

In this task, you use the New Profile wizard to create a custom profile. When you create a profile, you select the data object and the columns that you want to run a profile on. You also configure the sampling and drill-down options.
    1. Click New > Data Object Profile.
The New Profile wizard appears. Column profiling is selected by default.
    2. Click Next.
    3. In the Sources section, navigate to the LA_Customers data object.
The Columns section shows the columns for the data object.
    4. Select the checkbox next to LA_Customers.
    5. Click Next.
    6. In the Name field, enter Profile_LA_Customers_Custom.
    7. In the Folders section, select the Customs folder in the tutorial project.
    The Profiles section shows Profile_LA_Customers.
    8. Click Next.
    9. In the Columns section, clear the Address2, Address3, and City2 columns.
    10. In the Sampling Options section, verify that the All Rows option is selected.
    11. Verify that the Exclude datatype inference for columns with an approved datatype option is selected. This setting excludes columns with an approved data type from the data type inference of the profile run.
    12. In the Drilldown Options section, verify that the Drill down on live data is selected.
    13. Click Next.
    14. Optionally, define a filter for the profile.
    15. Click Next.
    16. To run the profile in the Hive environment, select Hiveand then select a hive connection. The Hive connection helps the Data Integration Service communicate with the Hadoop cluster to push down the profile run from the Data Integration Service to the Hadoop cluster.
    17. Click Save.
The Analyst tool creates the profile and displays the profile in the Discovery workspace. You need to run the profile to view the results.
