Introduction to Axon Data Governance

Axon Data Governance is a knowledge repository tool that you can use to document the data objects that require governance. Data owners, data stewards, subject matter experts, and other responsible stakeholders collaborate across the organization to progressively chart the business reality of data, its lineage, and usage across processes, policies, projects, and regulation.
Use Axon to inventorize the objects in your organization. You can connect an object to another object within the inventory, and view the details on dashboards, maps, and search results. You can control the access to objects by creating roles and responsibilities.
You can decide whether you want to make the data available to everyone or restrict access to a particular set of users in Axon. You can create segments based on rules, regulations, or geography to authorize data access to users.
After you govern the data, you can publish the data to the Axon Data Marketplace. In the Data Marketplace, you can search for data that other users in your organization have published. Users from various departments in the organization can find data that can be used to make decisions that impact the business. Users can request access to the data and place the order from the Data Marketplace on a self-service basis. To administer the Axon Data Marketplace, see the Axon Data Governance 7.1 Data Marketplace Administrator Guide on the Informatica Documentation Portal.
