Configure Role Assignments
You can assign stakeholders to an object by selecting from a predefined list of users.
To configure role assignments, assign users to each role for a facet. The roles vary based on the selected facet. For example, if you select the Data Set facet, you can assign users to Data Steward and Data Owner roles. You must assign at least one user to a role.
You cannot create duplicate role assignments for a facet. For example, if you have assigned users to the Glossary Steward role for the Glossary facet, you cannot select the Glossary Steward role again for the Glossary facet to assign the users.
After you assign users to roles, you can view the list of facets, roles, and number of users. When you assign a stakeholder to an object, you have to select users with assigned roles from the predefined list. You can access all the assigned roles from the My Account page.
You can add, edit, or delete a role assignment from the DG Operating Model > Role Assignment page. To edit a role assignment, click the number of users and update the list of users. To delete a role assignment, select the role and click Delete.
Configuring a Role Assignment
To create a predefined list of stakeholders for a facet, assign Axon users to each role for a facet. Use this list to assign stakeholders to an object.
1. From the Axon toolbar, click Admin Panel under the user name.
The Admin Dashboard appears with the Axon version details, status of Axon services, and Axon message queues.
2. On the left navigation pane, click DG Operating Model > Role Assignment.
3. To define a role assignment, click Add.
4. In the Facet Role Selection section, select a facet.
5. Select a role for the facet.
6. In the Members section, enter a user to add the user to the selected role.
You must assign at least one user to a role. To add multiple users for a role, you can click the + sign.
7. Click Save and Close.
You can view the role assignment that you added.
