Changes in Version 6.1
This section describes the changes to Axon in version 6.1.
Axon Agent Upgrade
You can upgrade the Axon Agent to version 6.1 if you are running version 6.0 and have enabled data quality rule automation. Previously, you had to uninstall the Axon Agent and install it again to upgrade to a newer version.
For more information, see the Upgrade the Axon Agent topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 Upgrade Guide.
Attribute Curation
Effective in version 6.1, you can curate the attributes that are discovered from Enterprise Data Catalog in the following areas of the Axon interface:
- •The Attributes tab of a Data Set object
- •The Data Attributes sub-tab on the Data tab of a System object
Previously, you could curate the discovered attributes only using the Data Attributes sub-tab in the Data tab of a Glossary object and the Bulk Update option in Unison search.
For more information, see the Curate Discovered Attributes topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.
Custom Fields
Effective in version 6.1, when you create or edit an object in Axon, you cannot see the default value that you configure for a custom field.
Previously, when you created or edited an object, Axon populated the default value that you configured for a custom field.
For more information, see the Add Custom Fields topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.
Glossary Assignment Rules
Effective in version 6.1, in the Glossary Assignment Rules section under the Data > Data Discovery tab, the Data Item Pattern column is renamed to Data Set Pattern.
For more information, see the Create and Assign Rules topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.
People Object
Effective in version 6.1, when you manually add a manager to a People object, Axon displays email address along with the name of the user to differentiate between identical user names.
Previously, Axon displayed only the name of the user and did not differentiate between identical user names.
For more information, see the Viewing People Objects topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.
Performance Improvements
Effective in version 6.1, Axon uses the OrientDB database for Quick Search indexing and display. Previously, Axon used the Apache Solr service for Quick Search. OrientDB improves the display of search results, reduces memory and CPU usage, and provides easier monitoring and maintenance of Axon components.
For more information, see the Axon Architecture topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 Administrator Guide.
