Changes in Version 6.3
This section describes the changes to Axon in version 6.3.
System Requirements
Effective in version 6.3, the system where you plan to install Axon requires a minimum of 26 GB memory. Previously, the system required 24 GB memory.
The following table lists the minimum hardware and software requirements to run Axon:
Component | Description |
---|
Disk | 200 GB |
Memory | 26 GB |
CPU Cores | 8 |
OS | Install Axon on one of the following Linux distributions: - - Amazon Linux 2
- - CentOS Linux version 7.5 or 7.6
- - Oracle Enterprise Linux 7.4
- - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x
- - SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP2, SP3, or SP4
|
Applications | - - unzip
- - tar
- - RPM
- - In
- - setfacl
- - YUM
- - sed
|
In addition to the above requirements, the following hardware requirements are recommended for optimal performance of Axon:
Component | Value |
---|
Disk Data Transfer Speed | 1.8 GB/s |
CPU Clock Speed | 3.20 GHz |
Share Saved Searches
Effective in version 6.3, you can share the saved searches with all users, including users who are not logged in. The users who are logged in can view the shared searches based on the permissions. The users who are not logged in can access the shared search via a link. The shared search includes the search criteria and search results.
Previously, you could share the saved searches only with limited users.
For more information, see the Search and View chapter in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.3 User Guide.
Data Sets and Attributes Selection
Effective in version 6.3, if you want to add a relationship between a process and data set from the Impact tab, you must first select the system and then the data set.
If you want to add a relationship between a process and attribute, you have to select the objects in the following order:
- 1. System
- 2. Data Set
- 3. Data Attributes
This order of selection helps in directly establishing a relationship with the intended attribute or data set if there are duplicate attributes or data sets. The order of selection applies to the following relationships:
- •Process X Attribute
- •Process X Data Set
- •Project X Attribute
- •Project X Data Set
- •Policy X Attribute
- •Policy X Data Set
Previously, if you wanted to add a relationship between a process and data set from the Impact tab, you had to select the data set. If you wanted to add a relationship between a process and attribute, you had to directly select the attributes.
For more information, see the Create and Edit chapter in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.3 User Guide.
Glossary Facet
Effective in version 6.3, the Glossary facet includes the following changes:
- Glossary on the Axon Interface
- When you view, create, and edit a glossary from the Axon interface, you can view the following name changes:
- - The Description field is renamed to "Definition."
- - The Parent field is renamed to "Parent Name."
- - The Attribute Glossary Description column is renamed to "Attribute Glossary Definition."
- Glossary Object Template
- The Glossary object template includes the following column name changes:
Old Column Name | New Column Name |
---|
Reference | Ref. |
Glossary Name | Name |
Glossary Description | Definition |
Parent Glossary Name | Parent Name |
Glossary Alias Name | Alias Names |
Glossary Type | Type |
- Glossary Alias Names
- When you bulk upload or bulk update a Glossary object, you can add multiple alias names for the glossary. You can add multiple alias names for a glossary by adding a comma (,) as a delimiter.
- Previously, you could add only a single alias name when you performed bulk upload for a Glossary object.
- Glossary Relationship Templates
- For all the relationship templates that include the Glossary object, the <Object> Parent Name column is renamed to Parent <Object> Name. For example, in the Capability X Glossary template, the Glossary Parent Name column is renamed to "Parent Glossary Name" and the Capability Parent Name column is renamed to "Parent Capability Name."
- Glossary Role Template
- The Glossary role template includes the following column name changes:
- - The Glossary Name column is renamed to "Name."
- - The Glossary Parent Name column is renamed to "Parent Name."
Download the latest templates to view all the changes.
For more information, see the Bulk Upload Data chapter in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.3 User Guide.
Unlink System and Resource
Effective in version 6.3, you cannot remove the link between a system and resource if the system has an attribute that is linked to a field in the resource. In such cases, you must first remove the link between the attribute and field and then delete the system to resource link.
Previously, you could remove the link between a system and resource if the system had an attribute that was linked to a field in the resource.
For more information, see the Create and Edit chapter in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.3 User Guide.
Created Data Column for Objects
Effective in version 6.3, you can view the date on which an object was created. You can view the date in View pages and Unison pages of the following facets:
- •Glossary
- •System
- •Data Sets
- •Attributes
- •Process
- •Policy
- •Project
- •Interface
Previously, the date appeared in some of the facet View and Unison pages and not in other facet pages.
For more information, see the Search and View chapter in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.3 User Guide.
Automatic Workflow for Objects When You Upload Roles
Effective in version 6.3, Axon automatically starts a workflow for objects that require mandatory approvals when you upload all the required roles to Axon using the bulk upload template. Previously, you had to start the workflow for the objects manually.
View Changes Made to Objects
When you open an object that is going through a change request process, the Changes to Review section of the object displays all changes that stakeholders have made to the object. This applies to facets that require mandatory approvals.
For more information, see the Reviewing a Change Request topic in the Axon Data Governance 6.3 User Guide.
Enhancements to Query API
Effective in version 6.3 of Axon, you can use version 2 of the query API to retrieve Axon objects and objects that are hierarchically and semantically related to the primary objects. In the previous version of the API, you could retrieve only primary objects and objects that are directly and indirectly related to the primary objects.
Use version 2 of the API to query and retrieve Axon objects.
API URL: http(s)://<Axon_host>:<port>/unison/v2/facet/_search
For more information, see the Retrieve Primary Objects and Their Related Objects chapter in the Axon Data Governance 6.3 REST API Guide.
Bulk Update from Unison Search
Effective in version 6.3, when you perform a bulk update from the Unison search, you can search the drop-down values for a field. If a field has fewer than or equal to 10 values, Axon displays them in the drop-down list. If a field has more than 10 values, Axon does not display any value in the drop-down list. Type in at least three characters in the search field to view the values.
Previously, when you performed a bulk update from the Unison search, Axon listed all the available values for a field.
For more information, see the Create and Edit chapter in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.3 User Guide.
Performance Improvements
Effective in version 6.3, the following actions have noticeable improvements:
- •Retrieval of objects using the query API
- •Marking multiple change requests as complete from the My Account > Change Request tab
- •Closing a notification from the notification icon in the toolbar
- •Editing an object, saving an object, and actions on the Workflow tab
- •Logging in to Axon
