Changes in Version 7.1

This section describes the changes to Axon in version 7.1.

Axon with Enterprise Data Catalog

Effective in version 7.1, you can view the following changes for automated onboarding of objects and notifications in Axon:
Automated Onboarding of Objects
You can apply data onboarding rules and enable automated onboarding from a system. The objects are automatically onboarded to the system based on the configured rule. The parameters, such as confidence score, requirement for an associated glossary, and onboarded attribute names, are applied at a system-level.
Previously, the objects were automatically onboarded to any system.
Enterprise Data Catalog Parameters
You can view the changes for the following Enterprise Data Catalog parameters:
Associated Glossary
To automatically onboard objects, the glossary to physical field association in Enterprise Data Catalog is not required. If a physical field or data domain is not linked to a glossary in Enterprise Data Catalog, the onboarding job uses the default glossary specified in the Admin Panel to automatically onboard objects into Axon.
Previously, it was required for a physical field or data domain to be associated to a glossary for automated onboarding of objects.
Lineage Notifications
Axon sends email and interface notifications about the automatically created attribute relationships to the stakeholders. Axon also sends email and interface notification about the recommended attribute relationships. Axon sends notifications based on the Automatically Accept Lineage Recommendations and Enable Lineage Recommendation Notifications configuration in the Admin Panel.
Previously, you could view only the interface notifications for recommended attribute relationships and automatically created attributes.
Glossary Asset
You can view the following attributes for the Glossary asset in the Catalog:
For more information, see the Informatica Axon 7.1 Data Governance Administrator Guide and Informatica Axon 7.1 Data Governance User Guide.

Share Dashboard with All Users

Effective in version 7.1, you can share the dashboard with all users and selected users in your organization, or stop sharing the dashboard with other users. The Share Dashboard option is renamed to Modify Sharing.
Previously, you could share the dashboard only with selected users.
For more information on dashboard sharing, see the Axon Data Governance 7.1 User Guide.

Bulk Update Attributes

Effective in version 7.1, when you bulk update attributes from the Unison search page to update the data set, you can view the data set name, system that contains the data set, and description for the data set.
Previously, you could only view the data set names when you performed a bulk update operation on attributes from the Unison search page.
For more information on bulk update, see the Axon Data Governance 7.1 User Guide.

Custom Fields

Effective in version 7.1, you can see the following changes for custom fields:
Display Name and Technical Name
The Name field is renamed to Display Name. The Display Name that you enter for the first time when you create a custom field becomes the Technical Name for the field. You need the Technical Name for API calls. If you enter names with spaces in the Display Name, the Technical Name field stores the names without spaces. You cannot modify the Technical Name later.
Default Values in Custom Fields
When you create an object, you can see the default values that you configured in the Admin Panel appear for the custom fields.
Previously, the default values did not appear for custom fields when you created objects.
Bulk Upload Templates
If you want to bulk upload objects with default values for custom fields, you must not map the non-mandatory custom fields with the Axon properties.
Previously, the default values did not appear even if you mapped or unmapped the custom fields with the Axon properties.
For more information, see the Axon Data Governance 7.1 Administrator Guide, Axon Data Governance 7.1 Administrator Guide, and Axon Data Governance 7.1 Bulk Upload Reference Guide.

Performance Improvements

Effective in version 7.1, you can see that the Summary page of the objects loads faster with some of the sections collapsed for the following facets:
For example, the Summary page of a Process object shows collapsed sections, such as Documents, Process Predecessors, and Context. You can expand the section if you want to view any of the collapsed sections.
Previously, the Summary page of these objects were loaded in an expanded form and took a longer time to load.

Documentation

Effective in version 7.1, the Axon online help and documentation contain the following changes:
Bulk Upload Reference Guide
The Bulk Upload documentation is moved from the Axon Data Governance User Guide to Bulk Upload Reference Guide.
Use the Bulk Upload Reference Guide to learn how to bulk upload data to Informatica Axon. If you have large amounts of objects, relationships, and roles to enter in Axon, you can use the option to bulk upload data using Microsoft Excel templates. This guide covers the tasks that you can perform using the bulk upload option in the Axon Web interface.
Data Marketplace Administrator Guide
The administrative tasks documentation for Data Marketplace is moved from the Axon Data Governance Administrator Guide to Data Marketplace Administrator Guide.
Use the Data Marketplace Administrator Guide to configure Data Marketplace after it is installed in your organization. The guide includes the steps to perform administrative tasks, such as managing users, configuring roles, assigning permissions, adding users, customizing the interface, and troubleshooting issues. The guide is written for the Data Marketplace Administrator.
