New Features in Version 6.1

This section describes new Axon features in version 6.1.

Bulk Upload Templates

Effective in version 6.1, the bulk upload templates include the following enhancements:
Object Templates
You can download and use the following object templates to upload new items or update existing items:
The People template includes the Axon Status column. The rest of the object templates include both Axon Viewing and Axon Status columns. These columns are optional.
The Data Quality Rule template includes the Lifecycle column. This column is optional.
Role Templates
You can download and use the following role templates:
Relationship Templates
You can download and use the following relationship templates:
To bulk upload the relationships between Axon objects and Enterprise Data Catalog assets, use the following templates:
For more information, see the Bulk Upload Templates Overview topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.

Custom Field for Attributes

Effective in version 6.1, you can create custom fields for attributes.
You can configure the following custom field types for an attribute:
For more information, see the Configure Custom Fields topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.

Mandatory Approvals for Objects

Effective in version 6.1, you can specify mandatory approvals for Glossary, System, Data Set, and Process objects. If a user creates or modifies an object, Axon triggers a workflow that requires the designated stakeholders to approve the object at each stage of the workflow.
Axon triggers a workflow for a change request if the Admin or SuperAdmin user has enabled the Enable Workflow Approval option in the Admin Panel.
For more information, see the Default Settings for Change Requests topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.

Export Enterprise Data Catalog Fields

Effective in version 6.1, you can export the Enterprise Data Catalog fields to a CSV file. In the exported file, you can view additional information, such as field identifiers and location of the fields. Use the field information, such as field identifiers, to bulk upload relationships between Axon attributes and Enterprise fields.
You can export the fields from the following areas of the Axon interface:
For more information, see the View Enterprise Catalog in System and Enterprise Catalog Facets topics in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.

Instant Workflow Notifications

Effective in version 6.1, the SuperAdmin user can configure Axon to send notification emails to users immediately after the users are assigned workflow tasks.
For more information, see the Configure Email Delivery Options topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 Administrator Guide.

New Relationships for Process and Project Objects

Effective in version 6.1, you can create the following direct relationships for Process and Project objects:
To add these relationships, you can either use the bulk upload templates or manually connect the objects from the Impact tab of the Process and Project objects.
For more information, see the Unison Search Exceptions topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.

Personalized Dashboards

Effective in version 6.1, you can add the results of your saved Unison searches as widgets in the My Dashboard page. Instead of running a Unison Search query every time, you can add the saved search query as a widget to quickly look at the search results. You can choose whether you want the data in the widget to appear as a pie chart, bar chart, or number count.
For more information, see the Add Widget to the Dashboard topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.

Reference Identifier for Data Sets

Effective in version 6.1, you can add or update a unique reference identifier in the Ref field when you manually create a data set. If you leave this field empty, Axon automatically assigns a reference identifier.
For more information, see the Data Set Properties topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.

REST API to Retrieve Links Between Axon and External Applications

Effective in version 6.1, you can use a REST API to view the links between Axon objects and objects in external applications.
The source object is Axon. The target object needs to be Enterprise Data Catalog, Secure@Source, or Informatica Data Quality. If you provide the source information, the API finds the related target information. You can use the target information to find other related sources. For example, if you provide information on an Axon attribute, you can find the related Enterprise Data Catalog field using the API. After you retrieve the field identifier, you can use the API to retrieve other related Axon attributes.
For more information, see the Retrieve Links Between Axon and External Applications topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 REST API Guide.

Support for New Enterprise Data Catalog Field Types

Effective in version 6.1, Axon can display the Avro and Parquet field types from Enterprise Data Catalog resources.
For more information, see the Enterprise Catalog Facets topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 User Guide.

Support for New Linux Version and Database Version

Effective in version 6.1, you can install Axon on CentOS Linux version 7.6, and run Axon on PostgreSQL database version 10.6.
For more information, see the System Requirements topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 Installation Guide.

View Custom Resource Types

Effective in version 6.1, you can view Enterprise Data Catalog custom resource types in Axon.
To view the custom resource types in Axon, you must configure the required parameters, such as class type and label, for the resource types in the custom_edc_fields.yml file.
For more information, see the Configure Custom Resource Types topic in the Informatica Axon Data Governance 6.1 Administrator Guide.
