New Features in Version 7.3

This section describes new Axon features in version 7.3.

Usage Statistics

You can view the following types of usage statistics:
You can use external applications such as Tableau, Power BI, and Qlikview to visualize the usage data. For more information, see the View Usage Statistics topic in the Axon Data Governance Administrator Guide.

Workflows and Change Requests

Integration with Jira
You can configure Atlassian Jira as an external change request system for Axon. For any change request, Axon can create a ticket in Jira and include the object stakeholders in the workflow.
Customize workflow notifications
For a change request, as a SuperAdmin user, you can configure the actions on which Axon sends notifications to stakeholders of an object. You can configure Axon to send notifications on one of or both of the following scenarios:
For more information, see the Customize Workflow Notifications topic in the Axon Data Governance Administrator Guide.
Delegates assigned to an object during the progress of a workflow can perform workflow tasks
During the progress of a change request workflow, if you assign a new stakeholder or a delegate to an object or modify the stakeholder or delegate of an object, the new stakeholder or delegate can participate in the stakeholder responsibilities that befall them.
For more information, see the Assign a Delegate to an Object topic in the Axon Data Governance User Guide.
Unlock an object that has an active change request
If the Axon Status of the user account of an object stakeholder is set to Deleted and if that object has an active change request, you can unlock the object.
For more information, see the Manage Locks topic in the Axon Data Governance Administrator Guide.

Unison Search Improvements

Attributes facet
Under the Attributes facet in Unison, Axon displays the business logic of an attribute. To view them, select Business Logic from the Choose Columns sub-menu in Unison.
Business Logic filter
You can use the Unison filter options to curate attributes by business logic.

Axon with Enterprise Data Catalog

The Axon and Enterprise Data Catalog integration includes the following enhancements:
Support for additional resources and physical fields
You can onboard Salesforce V2 resources from Enterprise Data Catalog.
You can onboard the following types of physical fields from Enterprise Data Catalog:
Onboarding Objects from Different Schemas in a Resource
When a physical field is linked to separate glossaries, if you onboard objects, synonyms or public synonyms with same table or physical field names but with different schemas, Axon appends the physical field path to the name of the onboarded data sets to make the onboarded data sets distinguishable. The first data set that is onboarded does not have its physical field path appended to its name.
Link removal
Axon stores all the links that are removed from the physical field to attribute for seven days. This allows you to re-establish the attribute and physical field links.
For more information, refer to the Linking to Enterprise Metadata chapter in the Axon Data Governance User Guide.

Data Marketplace Enhancement

Data Marketplace allows you to edit the value of a custom field only while placing a data collection request. You cannot edit the value if the data collection request is completed, approved, fulfilled, or rejected.

Data Quality Rule Automation Support for New Resources

You can automate the process of running data quality rules on the following newly added resources:
For more information, see the Automate Data Quality Rules chapter in the Axon Data Governance User Guide.

Axon Kubernetes Enhancements

If you deploy Axon Data Governance on Kubernetes, you can observe the following enhancements :
Cluster configuration and auto-scaling support
Axon supports cluster configuration and auto-scaling for the following:
This allows you to create multiple pods.
Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) support
You can deploy an Axon image in an Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) environment.
High availability of Axon core pod
The availability of the Axon core pod is improved.
For more information, see the Deploy Axon Data Governance 7.3 on Kubernetes using Axon Deployment Manager article.
