Custom Views

A custom view displays a set of objects on the object list page. You can configure custom views for the activity log, connections, tasks, and task flows. By default, Informatica Cloud displays all objects of the selected type in the organization.

A custom view lists a objects based on the options that you configure. Use custom views to help manage activity log entries, connections, tasks, and task flows.

You can create a private view. A private view is a view that only you can use, edit or delete. You can also create a public view. Anyone in your organization can use, edit, or delete a public view.
You can use custom views for the following objects:

Configuring a Custom View

You can configure custom views for the activity log, connections, tasks, and task flows to display a subset of all activity log entries, connections, tasks, or task flows in the organization.

When you create a custom view, you configure the following information:
When you configure more than one requirement for a view, Informatica Cloud displays the objects that fulfill all requirements. For example, you configure a view to display Data Synchronization tasks that use a Salesforce source connection type and a Salesforce target connection type. The view displays Data Synchronization tasks that use both Salesforce source and target connections. The view does not display tasks that use a Salesforce source connection with other target connection types.
After you configure a custom view, the list page uses the view immediately unless you have a default view configured in your user preferences.
To configure a custom view:
    1. To configure a view for the activity log, click Monitor > Activity Log.
    To configure a view for connections, click Configure > Connections.
    To configure a view for tasks, click Task Wizards > <task type>.
    To configure a view for task flows, click Design > Task Flows.
    2. To create a new view, in the View menu, click New View.
    To edit an existing view, in the View menu, select the view, then click Edit View.
    3. On the New View or Edit View page, configure the following view details:
    View Detail
    Description
    View Name
    Required. Name of the view.
    The name must be unique for the view type. For example, you can create only one Data Synchronization task view named Salesforce. However, you can create a view named Salesforce for other view types, such as connections or activity log entries.
    The name can contain alphanumeric characters, spaces, and the following special characters:
    _ . + -
    Names are not case sensitive.
    View Type
    Displays the type of the view you are creating, such as a Connections View or Data Synchronization Tasks view.
    View Visibility
    Determines the visibility of the view:
    • - Public. Anyone in the organization can use, edit, or delete the view.
    • - Private. Only you can use, edit, or delete the view.
    4. Configure the filter criteria and display fields for the view.
    To configure the fields that the view displays, select the fields you want to use in Available Fields and copy the fields to Selected Fields.
    Note: Connection, task, and task flow views always display names.

    To configure an activity log view, select the filter criteria and display fields that you want to use. You can use the following filter criteria:
    Activity Log View: Filter Criteria
    Task Type
    Task type to display in the view. Select one or more of the available task types.
    Name Contains
    Partial name of the activity log entry. The activity log entry name is based on the task or task flow name.
    Partial name of the activity log entry. The activity log entry name is based on the task name.
    Enter the characters you want to use. This field is case sensitive.
    Job Status
    Status of the job.
    Error Message Contains
    Partial text of the error message. Enter the characters you want to use. This field is case sensitive.
    For an activity log view, you can use any of the following activity log display fields:
    Activity Log View: Display Fields
    Description
    Name
    Task name.
    End Date
    Date and time the task completed.
    Start Date
    Date and time the task started.
    Status
    Status of the task.
    Success Rows
    Total number of rows successfully read from the source and written to the target.
    Error Rows
    Total number of rows that were not written to the target.
    Error Message
    Error message associated with the target.
    Restart
    Displays an icon to restart a task.
    To configure a view for connections, select the connection details and display fields that you want to use. You can use the following connection details:
    Connection View: Connection Details
    Description
    Name contains
    Partial name of the connection. Enter the characters you want to use. This field is case sensitive.
    Description contains
    Partial description of the connection. Enter the characters you want to use. This field is case sensitive.
    Created by
    The user who created the connection. Select a user name.
    If you do not want to specify a user, select Any User In My Organization.
    Last updated by
    The user who last updated the task. Select a user name.
    If you do not want to specify a user, select Any User In My Organization.
    Created between
    Date range when the connection was created.
    Updated between
    Date range when the connection was updated.
    Connection Type
    Connection type. Select a connection type.
    If you do not want to specify a connection type, select Any Connection Type.
    When you select a connection type, you can use any related connection properties that display.
    For a connection view, you can use any of the following connection display fields:

    Description
    Description of the connection.
    Created Date
    Date the connection was created.
    Updated Date
    Date the connection was last updated.
    Created By
    User who created the connection.
    Updated By
    User who last updated the connection.
    Type
    Connection type, such as Flat File or Oracle.
    User Name
    User name used in the connection.
    Host Name
    Host name used in the connection.
    Port
    Port number used in the connection.
    Instance Name
    Instance name used in the connection.
    Database
    Database name used in the connection.
    Schema
    Schema name used in the connection.
    Service URL
    Service URL used in the connection.
    Secure Agent
    Secure Agent used in the connection
    To configure a view for tasks, select the task, source, or target or output file details, as well as the display fields that you want to use. You can use the following task details:
    Task View: Task Details
    Description
    Name contains
    Partial name of the task. Enter the characters you want to use. This field is case sensitive.

    Partial description of the task. Enter the characters you want to use. This field is case sensitive.
    Source connection
    Source connection used in the task.
    If you do not want to specify a source connection, select Include Any Connection.
    Data assessment task views only.
    Source object
    Source object used in the task.
    If you do not want to specify a source object, select Any Object.
    Data assessment task views only.
    Target prefix contains
    Partial target prefix. Enter the characters you want to use.
    Data replication task views only.
    Created by
    The user who created the task. Select a user name.
    If you do not want to specify a user, select Any User In My Organization.
    Updated by
    The user who last updated the task. Select a user name.
    If you do not want to specify a user, select Any User In My Organization.
    Created between
    Date range when the task was created.
    Updated between
    Date range when the task was updated.
    Schedule
    Schedule associated with the task. Select a schedule.
    If you do not want to specify a schedule, select Do Not Filter on Schedule.
    Parent Name Contains
    Full or partial name of the mapping or integration template used in the task.
    Full or partial name of the mapping used in the task.
    If you do not want to filter based on name, leave this option blank.
    Mapping configuration task views only.
    For Data Synchronization, contact validation, data masking, and Data Replication task views, you can use any of the following source details:

    Output File Connection
    Filters by the output file connection used in the task. You can include all connections or use a specific connection.

    For a task view, you can use the following task display fields. Available fields might differ based on the type of task view you are configuring.

    Source connection type used in the task.
    Target Connection Type
    Target connection type used in the task.

    Basis for a Mapping Configuration task.

    Schedule used in the task.
    Target Prefix
    Target prefix used in the Data Replication task.
    Data Replication task views only.
    Replicate All Objects
    Indicates if all objects are replicated in the Data Replication task.

    Secure Agent
    Secure Agent used in the PowerCenter task.
    PowerCenter task views only.
    PowerCenter XML
    Name of the PowerCenter XML file used in the PowerCenter task.
    PowerCenter task views only.
    Last Run
    Last time the task ran.
    Outbound Message URL
    Outbound message URL used in Data Synchronization tasks.
    Data Synchronization task views only.
    To configure a view for task flows, select the task flow details and display fields that you want to use. You can use the following task flow details:
    Task Flow View: Task Flow Details
    Description
    Name contains
    Partial name of the task flow. Enter the characters you want to use. This field is case sensitive.

    Partial description of the task flow. Enter the characters you want to use. This field is case sensitive.
    Created by
    The user who created the task flow. Select a user name.
    If you do not want to specify a user, select Any User In My Organization.
    Last updated by
    The user who last updated the task flow. Select a user name.
    If you do not want to specify a user, select Any User In My Organization.
    Created between
    Date range when the task flow was created.
    Updated between
    Date range when the task flow was updated.
    Schedule
    Schedule associated with the task flow. Select a schedule.
    If you do not want to specify a schedule, select Do Not Filter on Schedule.
    For a task flow view, you can use the following task flow display fields:

    Description
    Description of the task flow.
    Created Date
    Date the task flow was created.
    Updated Date
    Date the task flow was last updated.
    Created By
    User who created the task flow.
    Updated By
    User who last updated the task flow.
    Tasks
    Tasks in the task flow.
    Schedule
    Schedule used in the task flow.
    Last Run
    Last time the task flow ran.
    5. To change the column display order, use the navigation arrows.
    6. Select a Sort by Column.
    You can use any column selected to display.
    7. Select a Sort Order.
    You can sort the results in ascending or descending alphabetic order.
    8. Click OK.
    Informatica Cloud saves and displays the view.

Working with a Custom View

You can use private views that you create. You can also use public views that are shared within the organization. After you select a view, you can click a column name to temporarily change the sort order of the view.
You can configure a default view for each list page in your user preferences. The default view displays each time you return to the list page. lf you do not configure a default view, the list page displays the last selected view.
To select a custom view:
    1. To select a custom view for the activity log, click Monitor > Activity Log.
    To select a custom view for connections, click Configure > Connections.
    To select a custom view for tasks, click Task Wizards > <task type>.
    To select a custom view for task flows, click Design > Task Flows.
    2. In the View menu, select the view that you want to use.
    The view displays. To edit the view, click Edit View.
    To sort a view, you can click on a column name. An arrow indicates the sort order.

Deleting a Custom View

You can delete a custom view. You can delete a private view if you created it. You can also delete a public view. Before you delete a public view, make sure no one in the organization is using it. You cannot retrieve a view after it has been deleted.
To delete a custom view:
    1. To delete a view for the activity log, click Monitor > Activity Log.
    To delete a view for connections, click Configure > Connections.
    To delete a view for tasks, click Task Wizards > <task type>.
    To delete a view for task flows, click Design > Task Flows.
    2. In the View menu, select the view, then click Edit View.
    3. On the Edit View page, click Delete, and then click OK.
