Data Masking Task Maintenance
You can view and maintain all Data Masking tasks on the Data Masking Tasks page.
You can create tasks, edit tasks, copy tasks, delete tasks, run tasks, and download XML mapping and validation reports.
Editing a Data Masking Task
You can edit the Data Masking task if you want to make changes to the metadata.
1. Click Task Wizards > Data Masking.
The Data Masking Tasks page appears with the list of tasks that you created.
2. Click the Edit icon for the task that you want to edit.
Running a Data Masking Task Manually
You can start a Data Masking task manually to run it immediately.
1. Click Task Wizards > Data Masking.
2. On the Data Masking Tasks page, click the Run Now icon for the task you want to run.
Stopping a Data Masking Task
Click the Stop Job icon in the Activity Monitor to stop a Data Masking task that is currently running.
Configuring Data Masking Task Permissions
You can configure permissions for a Data Masking task. Set permissions for user groups to read, create, update, delete, and run the Data Masking task. You can also allow other user groups to change permissions for the Data Masking task.
By default, the user group defines the objects that a user can access.
1. Navigate to the Data Masking Tasks page.
2. Click the Change Permission icon for the task you want to change.
The Change Permissions page displays a list of user groups in the organization.
3. To change the permissions, select Custom Permissions.
4. Configure the permissions for each user group.
5. To revert to default permissions, select Default Permissions.
6. Click OK.
Copying a Data Masking Task
You can copy a Data Masking task to create another task with similar behavior.
When you copy a task, the Data Masking task appends a number to the task name and creates a task name.
Note: When you copy a task with schedule, the schedule is not copied.
1. Click Task Wizards > Data Masking.
2. On the Data Masking Tasks page, click the Make a Copy icon for the task you want to copy.
Deleting a Data Masking Task
You can delete a Data Masking task at any time.
When you delete a task at run time, the Data Masking task completes the task and then deletes it. You cannot retrieve a task after you delete it.
1. Click Task Wizards > Data Masking.
2. On the Data Masking Tasks page, click the Delete icon for the task you want to delete.
3. Confirm that you want to delete the task.
Downloading Mapping XML
You can download mapping XML file to view scope, control, and the workflows.
After you download the mapping XML, you can import the XML file into PowerCenter for debugging purpose.
1. Click Task Wizards > Data Masking.
2. On the Data Masking Tasks page, click the Download Mapping XML icon for the task that you want to download.
Downloading Validation Reports
You can view validation reports after you run a Data Masking task.
A validation report contains mandatory relationships, fields, and field and relationship mismatch between source and target.
1. Click Task Wizards > Data Masking.
2. On the Data Masking Tasks page, click the Download Validation Report icon for the task that you want to download.
