Mapping Configuration Tasks

Use the Mapping Configuration task to process data based on the data flow logic defined in a mapping.
When you create a Mapping Configuration task, you select the mapping or integration template for the task to use. You also define parameters associated with the mapping or integration template. The mapping or integration template must already exist before you can create a Mapping Configuration task for it.
An integration template includes template parameters for the source and target connections. An integration template can also include other template parameters, such as filter conditions or lookup connections.
A mapping can include parameters that you define when you configure the Mapping Configuration task or when you run the task.
You can use user-defined parameters in a Mapping Configuration task. You define user-defined parameters in a parameter file associated with the task.
At run time, the Mapping Configuration task processes task data based on the data flow logic from the mapping or integration template, the parameters defined in the task, and the user-defined parameters defined in a parameter file, when available.
When you create a task, you can associate it with a schedule to run it at specified times or on regular intervals. Or, you can run it manually.
Use the Mapping Configuration Task wizard to create a Mapping Configuration task. You can also copy an existing Mapping Configuration task to create a new task. Note that when you copy an existing Mapping Configuration task, the schedule is removed from the copied task.
