Mapping revisions and dynamic mapping tasks

When you update a mapping that is used in a dynamic mapping task and the mapping is valid, Data Integration synchronizes the changes when you open or run the task. Because of this, you might need update privileges for the dynamic mapping task to open or run it for the first time after you update the mapping.

The following changes to a mapping don't require update privileges to open or run the dynamic mapping task:

All other changes to the mapping affect the dynamic mapping tasks that use it. You must have update privileges for the task to open or run it for the first time after updating the mapping.

If you don't want your updates to affect the task, you can make a copy of the mapping and apply your updates to the new mapping.
