Creating Data Domains
1. Click New > Data Domain.
The New Data Domain tab page appears.
2. Specify the name for the data domain in the Name box and the description for the data domain in the Description box.
3. Select one of the following options for the Specify Rules for this data domain option:

Select this option to specify the a data rule or column name rule or both the rules for the new data domain. You can select multiple data rules or column name rules:
Data rule
Finds columns with data that matches specific logic defined in the rule.
Column name rule
Finds columns that match column name logic defined in the rule.
You must use rules created using Informatica Analyst Tool or Informatica Developer Tool. Make sure that the required rules are available in the Model repository with the appropriate permissions.

Select this option to configure Live Data Map to assign the new data domain to similar columns in the catalog. Live Data Map assigns the new data domain to similar columns, based on the column for which you assign the new data domain in Enterprise Information Catalog.
Note: If you select this option, proceed to step 9 in this section.
4. To add a data rule to the data domain, perform the following steps:
- a. Click Browse next to Data Rule if you want to select a data rule for the data domain.
The Data Rule dialog box appears.
- b. Select the required rule and click Select.
5. To add a column name rule to the data domain, perform the following steps:
- a. Click Browse adjacent to Column Name Rule if you want to select a column name rule for the data domain.
The Column Name Rule dialog box appears.
- b. Select the required rules and click Select.
6. Click Select Data Domain in the Proximity Rules section.
The Data Domains dialog box appears.
7. Select the required data domains and click Select.
8. Specify a value greater than zero in the box provided. Live Data Map reduces the inference percentage based on the value if a specified data domain is not found in a source table.
9. Click
in the Select Data Domain Group section to add the data domain to existing data domain groups. The Data Domain Groups dialog box appears.
10. Select the required data domain groups and click Select.
Note: Click

to remove a data domain group from the list of data domain groups in the
Data Domain Groups section.
11. Click Save to save the data domain.
