Business Example

You are a catalog user who is asked to analyze the usage of data assets in the catalog based on specific requirements. The outcome of the analysis needs to be exported to a third-party reporting application to customize the data and map the assets to the source data. The report is presented to the data stewards to identify the enhancements that need to be made in the enterprise to implement efficiency and availability for the most used data sources. The challenge that you face is to analyze the large volume of assets in your catalog.
The following table lists the specific analytical requirements and the corresponding feature in Data Asset Analytics that helps you to accomplish the tasks:

Find out the count of assets and resources that were added to the catalog over a particular period of time. Download the analytical report in a format that can be exported to any third party reporting application for customization and data mapping.
To view the statistical reports on the asset count, asset growth, and asset changes, you can use the Data Asset Inventory tab. To view the report information based on the different time range, you can use the Time Range option. You can then download the report in CSV format to use it in any third-party reporting applications.
Identify the different ways with which the data assets were enriched.
To view the statistical reports on all asset enrichments, you can use the Data Asset Enrichment tab. To view the report based on a type of enrichment, you can use the All Enrichment Types option.
Identify the users who contributed to the crucial data assets.
To view information about users who contributed to data assets, you can create a report of type User Collaboration. To view the top users who contributed to data assets and top assets with collaboration, you can use the User Collaboration tab on the Dashboard page.
