Assigning Custom Attributes to Classes and Resources
You can assign custom attributes to existing resources and classes in the resource model when you create or modify custom attributes. You can either assign custom attributes to specific classes and resources or all classes and resources in the catalog.
Perform the following steps to assign custom attributes to resources and classes when you modify an existing custom attribute:
- 1. From the Catalog Administrator menu, click Manage > Attributes. The Custom Attributes page appears.
- 2. From the Custom Attributes pane, select the custom attribute that you want to associate with resources and classes.
- 3. Click Edit.
- 4. From the Class Assignment section, select one of the following options:
- - All Classes. Assigns the custom attribute to all classes.
- - Specific Classes. Assigns the custom attribute to specific classes. Click Show object types in hierarchy to view the object types included in the classes.
- 5. From the Resource Assignment section, select any of the following options:
- - All Resources. Assigns the custom attribute to all resources and reference resources.
- - Specific Resources. Assigns the custom attribute to specific resources and reference resources. Use the Show selected resource option to toggle between the resources you selected and all the resources.
- - None. Does not associate the custom attribute to any resource.
- 6. Click Save.
