Deprecating Custom Models

You can deprecate a custom model. After you deprecate a custom model, you cannot create custom resource types based on the deprecated custom model or associate the deprecated custom model to existing custom resource types. When you deprecate a custom model, Enterprise Data Catalog places the model in the Deprecated Models section on the Models page. Verify that the custom model is not associated to any custom resource type. If a custom resource type is associated with the custom model that you want to deprecate, remove the association and associate the resource type with another model.
  1. 1. After you deprecate a custom model, you cannot change it back to a model that you can use to create custom resource types.
  2. 2. Click Manage > Models.
    The Models page appears.
    3. Select the custom model that you want to deprecate and click Deprecate.
    The confirmation dialog box appears.
    4. Click OK to deprecate the custom model.
The custom model appears in the Deprecated Models section on the Models page.
After you deprecate a custom model, Enterprise Data Catalog continues to scan and ingest metadata into the catalog using the custom resource that you created based on the custom model.
