Informatica Axon
Informatica Axon is a knowledge repository and governance tool that stores the core data items and business context of your organization. Owners, stewards, subject matter experts and other responsible stakeholders collaborate to progressively chart the business reality of data, its lineage, and usage across processes, policies, projects, and regulation.
Objects Extracted
The Informatica Axon resource extracts metadata from the following assets:
- •Glossary
- •Policy
- •Data Set
- •System
- •Attribute. Enterprise Data Catalog extracts the manually created as well as the curated attributes.
You can read the details of the native users, LDAP users, and SSO users associated with the assets in the Catalog.
You can view the following relationships in the Catalog:
- •Parent-child relationship between Axon artifacts and extracted objects
- •Semantic relationship between the glossary assets
Permissions
Enterprise Data Catalog recommends that you configure the SuperAdmin permission for the user account that you use to access the Axon data source.
Basic Information
The General tab includes the following basic information about the resource:

Resource type | The type of the resource. |
Execute On | You can choose to execute on the default catalog server or offline. |
Resource Connection Properties
The following table describes the connection properties for the Informatica Axon resource:

Username | Axon user name or LDAP user name to access the Axon application. |
Password | Axon password or LDAP password to access the Axon application. |
Host | The fully qualified host name to access Axon application. Note: Ensure that you are using Informatica Axon host details instead of the Load Balancer host. |
Port | Port number to access Axon application. Note: Ensure that you are using Informatica Axon port details instead of the Load Balancer port. |
Enable Secure Communication | Select the property if Axon application is enabled for SSL. |

Enable Source Metadata | Select to extract metadata from the data source. |
Axon Status | Select the objects with the Axon Status values that you want to load into the catalog. |
Glossary Lifecycle | Select the glossary objects with the Lifecycle values that you want to load into the catalog. |
System Lifecycle | Select the system objects with the Lifecycle values that you want to load into the catalog. |
Data Set Lifecycle | Select the data set objects with the Lifecycle values that you want to load into the catalog. |
Policy Lifecycle | Select the policy objects with the Lifecycle values that you want to load into the catalog. |
Memory | Specify the memory value required to run a scanner job. Specify one of the following memory values: Note: For more information about the memory values, see the Tuning Enterprise Data Catalog Performance article on How To-Library Articles tab in the Informatica Doc Portal |
Custom Options | JVM parameters that you can set to configure scanner container. Use the following arguments to configure the parameters: - - -Dscannerloglevel=<DEBUG/INFO/ERROR>. Changes the log level of scanner to values, such as DEBUG, ERROR, or INFO. Default value is INFO.
- - -Dscanner.container.core=<No. of core>. Increases the core for the scanner container. The value should be a number.
- - -Dscanner.yarn.app.environment=<key=value>. Key pair value that you need to set in the Yarn environment. Use a comma to separate the key pair value.
- - -Dscanner.pmem.enabled.container.memory.jvm.memory.ratio=<1.0/2.0>. Increases the scanner container memory when pmem is enabled. Default value is 1.
