Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in Installation
You can install the Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in from the Chrome web store or the Help menu in the Enterprise Data Catalog tool.
Note: Effective in Enterprise Data Catalog version 10.5.2 or later, you can install the plug-in only from the Help menu in the Enterprise Data Catalog tool.
Installing Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in from Chrome web store
- 1. Open the Chrome web store in the Chrome browser.
- 2. In the Chrome web store, search for Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in.
- 3. Select Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in from the extension results page.
- 4. Click Add To Chrome.
- 5. Click Add extension to confirm the installation.
Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in appears on the upper right corner of the page.
Note: You cannot launch the Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in from dynamic web pages that refresh the content automatically.
Installing Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in from Help menu
- 1. From the Help menu in the Enterprise Data Catalog tool, click Download EDC Chrome Plug-in.
A zipped file that contains the Enterprise Data Catalog plug-in installation files is downloaded.
- 2. Extract the Enterprise Data Catalog plug-in installation .zip file.
- 3. In Google Chrome, enter chrome://extensions/ in the search bar.
- 4. On the Extensions page, click the Developer mode toggle.
The new options appear on the page.
- 5. Click the Load unpacked option.
The Select the extension directory window appears.
- 6. In the Select the extension directory window, navigate to the location where you extracted the Enterprise Data Catalog plug-in installation files. Locate the manifest.json file and then click Select Folder.
The Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in gets added to your browser.
Configuring Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in
After you install Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in extension, you must enter the Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in login credentials to get started.
1. Right-click the Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-inextension icon from the header area and chooseOptions from the menu. The Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in Configuration dialog box appears.
2. Enter the following properties for the connection:
