Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in Installation

You can install the Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in from the Chrome web store or the Help menu in the Enterprise Data Catalog tool.
Note: Effective in Enterprise Data Catalog version 10.5.2 or later, you can install the plug-in only from the Help menu in the Enterprise Data Catalog tool.

Installing Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in from Chrome web store

  1. 1. Open the Chrome web store in the Chrome browser.
  2. 2. In the Chrome web store, search for Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in.
  3. 3. Select Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in from the extension results page.
  4. 4. Click Add To Chrome.
  5. 5. Click Add extension to confirm the installation.
Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in appears on the upper right corner of the page.
Note: You cannot launch the Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in from dynamic web pages that refresh the content automatically.

Installing Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in from Help menu

  1. 1. From the Help menu in the Enterprise Data Catalog tool, click Download EDC Chrome Plug-in.
    2. A zipped file that contains the Enterprise Data Catalog plug-in installation files is downloaded.
  2. 2. Extract the Enterprise Data Catalog plug-in installation .zip file.
  3. 3. In Google Chrome, enter chrome://extensions/ in the search bar.
  4. 4. On the Extensions page, click the Developer mode toggle.
    5. The new options appear on the page.
  5. 5. Click the Load unpacked option.
    6. The Select the extension directory window appears.
  6. 6. In the Select the extension directory window, navigate to the location where you extracted the Enterprise Data Catalog plug-in installation files. Locate the manifest.json file and then click Select Folder.
The Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in gets added to your browser.

Configuring Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in

After you install Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in extension, you must enter the Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in login credentials to get started.
    1. Right-click the Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-inextension icon from the header area and chooseOptions from the menu.
    The Enterprise Data Catalog Plug-in Configuration dialog box appears.
    2. Enter the following properties for the connection:
    3. Optionally, select the Remember Credentials check box to save the login credentials.
    4. Click Save.
