License policy for the users "Adminstrator", "System" and "Guest" of a PIM - Server system

Are Licenses consumed for the standard PIM - Server users...

This article will provide answers to the questions:

  • Are these standard users really needed?

  • Are licenses consumed from the bought number of licenses?

What are the standard users good for and can they be deactivated?

The user Administrator is representing the system supervisor and is not limited by any permission.

The user Guest is an anonymous user and has very limited rights.

The user System is used by the server in the background and can not be used for interactive login and work.

The Guest and System users are necessary to run a PIM - Server system and cannot be deactivated.
However, for security reasons you can disable the possibility to login with the Administrator account by setting the corresponding property in the plugin_customization.ini of the server.

License policy for the standard users since version 5.2 SP 1

It is recommended to use user Administrator as system supervisor exclusively. Nevertheless it can be used as a normal user (and usually done). Therefore one license is consumed for this user.

The users System and Guest do not consume a license.

Before version 5.2 SP 1

All three users Administrator, System and Guest consumed licenses.
