Privileges and Roles

Privileges determine the actions that users can perform for PC to Cloud Conversion. A role is a collection of privileges that you assign to a user or group. Based on the role and privileges assigned, you can publish the assets for conversion to Cloud Data Integration.
A PC to Cloud Conversion user requires the minimum set of privileges to publish PowerCenter assets, which includes the creation of mapplet, mapping, mapping task, taskflow, Sequence Generator transformations, user-defined functions, and connections.
You must enable the standard roles needed for the assigned PC to Cloud Conversion users or groups under the User Roles section of the Administrator.
The following table describes the roles that needs to be assigned to PC to Cloud Conversion users to inherit the required privileges:
Role Name
Description
Data Integration Data Previewer
Role to preview data
Data Integration Task Executor
Role to run Data Integration tasks
Designer
Role for creating assets, tasks, and processes. Can configure connections, schedules, and runtime environments.
Operator
Role used for monitoring execution environments
Service Consumer
Role for running tasks, taskflows, and processes
You also need to create a connection role for creating a connection. To create the mapping connections during publish, you must also create a custom Create_connection_role for the Administrator and enable the Create, Read, and Update privileges for the connection asset type.
