Adding basic rule associations

When you use a validation predefined function, ensure that you configure the validation message.
    1On the business entity page, select a field to associate rules.
    2In the Properties section, click Data Quality > Basic.
    3Click Add Basic Rule Association.
    A form appears.
    4In the General section, enter a unique name for the rule association.
    5Optionally, enter a description.
    6On the Condition tab, perform the following tasks:
    1. aSelect a function.
    2. bFor the input field, select an option from the list.
    3. cIf you select Select a Field, select a business entity field from the list.
    4. dIf you select Enter a Value, type a value for validation.
    7If you select a validation function, on the Validation tab, perform the following tasks:
    1. aSelect one of the following severity levels for the validation failure:
    2. Note: Severity of the validation failure is applicable only when you ingress data or create records in real time.
    3. bEnter an error message to display.
    4. cEnter the percentage of trust score to downgrade when the validation fails.
    5. Note: Severity of the validation failure and trust score downgrade are applicable only when you ingress data.
    8To verify the created rule, perform the following tasks:
    1. aClick Test.
    2. The Test dialog box appears.
    3. bEnter values in the Input column, and click Run.
    4. The validation result appears in the Output column.
    5. cClick Close.
    9Click Save.
