Delete records

You can delete master and source records that you don't need. However, the records aren't permanently deleted from the data store. When you delete master and source records, the state of these records changes from active to deleted. You can't update deleted records.
After you delete a master record, its source records remain active. After you delete a source record, the master record remains active if at least one of the contributing source records is active. The trust scores of the master record field values are recalculated based on the survivorship configuration of the active source records.
When you delete a master record and it's contributing source records, the master record field values are recalculated based on the survivorship configuration of the deleted source records.
If you delete all contributing source records, Customer 360 SaaS automatically deletes the master record.
When you delete a master record that's related to another record through relationships, Customer 360 SaaS deletes the relationship between them. The relationship graph and the related records section don't display the relationship.
When you delete a master record that's related to another record through a business entity record field, the deleted record continues to appear as the field value of the business entity record field. When you open the record, the record appears as deleted.
When you delete a record that's part of a hierarchy, Customer 360 SaaS deletes the record and its relationship with the child records from the hierarchy. However, all the relationships aren't permanently deleted from the data store.
You can delete records through file import or record details page. When you search for records, the search results include active records. You can filter and view the deleted records.

Deleting a record scenario

You can delete master and source records. If you use Customer 360 SaaS to delete a master record, the deletion depends on the rank of the Informatica Customer 360 source system.
If the rank of the Informatica Customer 360 source system is higher than the ranks of other source systems that contribute active records to the master record, you can delete the master record. Otherwise, you can't delete the master record.
Consider a master record in Customer 360 SaaS with two contributing source records, Record 1 and Record 2. The Informatica Customer 360 source system is ranked 3.
The following table lists the contributing source records of the master record, their source systems, and source rankings:
Source Record
Source System
Source Rank
Record 1
HR
1
Record 2
Finance
2
In Customer 360 SaaS, try to delete the master record. The deletion fails because the Informatica Customer 360 source system is ranked lower than the HR and Finance source systems.
