You can move records within a hierarchy or to another hierarchy. The records that you move might have child records. You can move the record along with its child records or remove the child record associations from the record before the move.
Moving a record within a hierarchy
To move a record within the same hierarchy, drag the record from one location to the other. When you move a record from one location to another, the child records of the record also move along with the record. Hierarchy attribute values are retained when you move a record within the same hierarchy. If the relationship type is not valid, you can't move the record. You can't move a record if the target record has no compatible relationship type with the record that you move.
