When you view the data lineage for an asset, the interface has three areas that you can interact with and navigate.
The following image shows the interface and available controls for data lineage:
1View options. This list contains options to switch between different views of the lineage. Based on the granularity of data flow that you want to see, select Data Set Level or Data Element Level lineage.
2Interface canvas. This section displays only the seed asset and the immediate neighbor assets by default in the data flow. To increase the density of the lineage and see more hops on demand, click the Expand More option. Choose to expand one hop, three hops, or five hops. You can also double-click the Expand More option to directly expand the hops.
To view the progressive loading of the complete data lineage of the business or technical assets, click the Expand All Hops option. The data lineage loads progressively and you can stop the data loading at any given point by clicking the Stop Loading option. The progressive loading of the data lineage helps you to view and analyze the data at any given point when a particular hop is complete. The following image shows the Stop Loading option:
3Lineage options. This section contains options to search the lineage and view additional information about the lineage. You can apply overlays to view the business context for the assets in the lineage. From the settings menu, you can choose options to optimize lineage performance and display. You can also see the preview of each asset in the lineage or view the lineage in full screen. For more information about detailed lineage options, see View data lineage.
