Download a predefined Microsoft Excel template file to bulk import data and create, modify or delete assets in Data Governance and Catalog.
The downloaded predefined template file contains various sheets with field names for the respective values that you can enter. Column headers in red indicate mandatory fields, and column headers in black indicate optional fields. The column headers also contain notes to help you enter the values correctly.
The predefined Microsoft Excel template that you download contains the Instructions sheet. The sheet contains instructions on how you can use a predefined Microsoft Excel template file to bulk import data into Data Governance and Catalog.
The following notes apply for the values that you enter in the template files:
•The system administrator might disable some fields in Data Governance and Catalog according to the requirements of your organization. Such fields will not appear in the template files that you download.
•When you create a new asset using the bulk import template, you can create assets that are in the 'Draft' or 'Published' lifecycle status. You cannot choose the asset lifecycle status as 'In Review'.
•
If assets are in 'Published' or 'Draft' state, you can bulk update or delete stakeholders for the business assets using the asset types template or the additional stakeholders sheet.
You can download additional sheets for stakeholders and relationships while downloading the bulk import templates for business assets.
•When you specify values for custom attributes, you must enter values that match their data types. The following table describes the guidelines that apply when you want to add a value to a custom attribute:

Text Field
Enter a single line or multi-line rich text that has letters, integers including decimals with multiple decimals places, and special characters.
Numeric Value
Enter integers or decimals with multiple decimal places.
Dropdown List
Create a single select or a multi-select list. Use commas without spaces to separate options for a mulit-select list.
If an option has a comma, you must enclose the option within double quotes without spaces.
Check Box
Select True or False.
Date Field
Enter dates in the format MM/DD/YYYY.
URL Field
You can enter a hyperlinked label, a URL, or both a label and URL.
If you enter both label and URL, do not enter the URL as a hyperlink, and use a colon to separate the values.
