You can configure enrichment propagation and generated descriptions on the Autonomous Enrichment tab of the Configure page.
Enrichment propagation applies enrichments from one asset to related assets. Lineage-based propagation uses lineage relationships to determine which assets to enrich.
You can also set the context that shapes the descriptions Data Governance and Catalog generates for your assets.
Review the prerequisites before you begin.
Prerequisites
Before you configure autonomous enrichment and other options on the Autonomous Enrichment tab, verify that you have the required privileges and settings enabled. Privileges are set in Administrator.
You need the following privileges and settings:
•To view the settings on the Autonomous Enrichment tab, you need the Metadata Command Center View Autonomous Enrichment feature privilege. The Governance User role includes this privilege.
•To configure the settings on the tab, you need the Metadata Command Center Manage Autonomous Enrichment feature privilege. The Governance Administrator role includes both view and manage privileges.
•To view and configure Generated Description Settings, Enable CLAIRE Generative AI Services must be selected in CLAIRE Preferences in Administrator.
You enable autonomous enrichment globally on the Autonomous Enrichment tab of the Configure page. A catalog source receives propagated enrichments only after you also configure the catalog source to receive them. For information about how to configure a catalog source to receive enrichments, see the catalog source documentation.
Configure lineage-based propagation
Enable lineage-based propagation to track enrichments and propagate them to assets that are connected through lineage. Disable it to stop future propagation.
On the Autonomous Enrichment tab, you enable or disable lineage-based propagation at a global level. Enabling it is a prerequisite to start tracking enrichments and to propagate them to a catalog source.
You must also configure a catalog source to receive enrichments before any propagation occurs. To configure a catalog source to receive enrichments, see the documentation for that catalog source.
1Open the Configure page and select the Autonomous Enrichment tab.
Enrichments are tracked from the date you enable it, and they propagate to assets that are connected through lineage.
3Click Save.
A message confirms that the Autonomous Enrichment configuration is saved.
Note:
Enrichments created before you enable it don't propagate automatically. To propagate them, run the catalog source job and include the Autonomous Enrichment capability.
A confirmation message appears. Select I understand, and then click Disable.
Enrichments stop propagating to connected assets. Enrichments that are already propagated or recommended remain unchanged.
Generated descriptions
Data Governance and Catalog uses CLAIRE to generate descriptions for your assets. You can set a global context that shapes the descriptions it generates.
The context includes settings such as industry and text length. Setting the context helps the generated descriptions match your business domain and preferred length.
The settings act as defaults for all descriptions generated across your assets. You can override the defaults in Data Governance and Catalog.
Configure generated descriptions
Configure settings that provide context to the descriptions CLAIRE generates in Data Governance and Catalog. You configure this context at the global level.
1Open the Configure page and select the Autonomous Enrichment tab.
2Go to the Generated Description Settings section.
3Select the industry that applies to your metadata.
4Select the text length for the generated descriptions.
5Click Save.
Data Governance and Catalog uses these settings as context when it generates descriptions. You can override this context when you generate a description in Data Governance and Catalog.
