To extract metadata and to configure other capabilities that a catalog source might include, you need account access and permissions on the source system. The permissions required might vary depending on the capability.
Permissions for metadata extraction
To extract Strategy metadata, you need account access and permissions to the MicroStrategy source system.
Verify that the Metadata Command Center administrator performs the following tasks:
•Can connect to the project source in the Strategy Developer tool as an administrator.
•Defines the SecurityRole role and associates the user with it as a member.
•Grants access to the project for the user and the SecurityRole.
•The Strategy project user account for version 7.x, and the SecurityRole for version 11.x or later have privileges to perform the following operations:
- Use server cache
- Use Developer
- View SQL
- Administer Caches
- Load and Unload project
- Bypass all object security access checks. Configure the privilege to assign administration privileges for all the objects in the Strategy project that you want to import.
