Business Initiative Properties
A business initiative holds other Glossary assets. You can publish a business initiative to publish the assets that are part of the initiative.
Business initiatives contain properties in the following sections:
- General
- Contains global properties, such as name and description.
- Status
- Contains properties about the open date, close date, current status, and phase of the business initiative. The status indicates the validity of the business initiative. The phase changes based on the task that the content managers perform.
- Asset Collection
- Contains a list of assets that are part of the initiative.
- People
- Contains properties to identify content managers for the initiative.
- Activity
- Contains properties to track activity, such as history and comments.
General Properties
The General section contains the name and description properties.
Business initiatives contain the following properties in the General section:
- Name
- Business initiative name.
- Description
- Description of the business initiative.
Status Properties
The Status section contains properties about the open date, close date, current status, and phase of the business initiative. The status indicates the validity of the business initiative. The phase changes based on the tasks that the content managers perform.
Business initiatives contain the following properties in the Status section:
- Open Date
- The date when the business initiative starts.
- Close Date
- The date when the business initiative ends.
- Status
- The current status of the business initiative.
A business initiative can have one of the following statuses:
- - Active. Indicates that the business initiative is valid for the organization.
- - Inactive. Indicates that the business initiative is not valid for the organization or not ready for the glossary consumers to view.
- Phase
- The current phase of the business initiative. The value of this property changes when the data steward defines, proposes, or publishes the business initiative.
A business initiative can exist in one of the following phases:
- - Draft. Indicates that the data steward created the business initiative.
- - In Review. Indicates that the data steward proposed a review by the stakeholder.
- - Rejected. Indicates that the stakeholder reviewed and rejected the business initiative.
- - Published. Indicates that the data steward published the business initiative.
Glossary consumers can see published business initiatives.
Asset Collection Properties
The Asset Collection section contains Glossary assets that are part of the business initiative.
A business initiative contains the following property in the Asset Collection section:
- Assets
- Business terms, categories, or policies that are part of the business initiative.
People Properties
The People section contains business initiative properties to identify content managers for the initiative.
Business initiatives contain the following properties in the People section:
- Owner
- The business initiative owner.
- Data Steward
- The user who manages the business initiative content.
- Stakeholders
- One or more users who participate in the approval process before the data steward publishes the business initiative.
Activity Properties
The Activity section contains properties to track activity.
The Activity section is visible when you open a business initiative.
Business initiatives contain the following properties in the Activity section:
- View History
- Displays the history of tasks such as import, publish, or revise performed on the current initiative.
- Comments
- Displays the comments for the current initiative.
