Edit Data Collections

You can modify the properties of a data collection that are used by data consumers to search in the Data Marketplace.
You must have one of the following user profiles to perform this task:
    1. Launch Data Marketplace and go to the Data I Own tab.
    2. The Data I Own page displays the data collections that you have published from Axon Data Governance.
    3. Click the View in Axon tab to view the data collection in the Axon.
    The data collection opens in the new tab.
    4. Click a data collection name to view its details. To understand the properties of the data collection, see Search, View, and Enrich Data Collections.
    5. To modify the properties of the data collection, click Edit.
    6. Modify the following properties of the data collection:
    Field
    Description
    Name
    Name of the data collection.
    Ref. No.
    Prefix of the reference identifier for the data collection.
    Purpose
    Purpose of the data collection.
    Status
    Status of the data collection. Data consumers can search and find data collections in the Published status. If you change the status of the data collection to Unpublished, the data collection is hidden for data consumers.
    Note: If a data consumers has requested access to a data collection, and you change the status of the collection to Unpublished, the data owners and the technical owner can still fulfil the order.
    Data Owners
    Users who can approve or reject access requests for the data collection.
    Technical Owners
    Optional. The user that is responsible for delivering the data to the data consumers.
    Category
    Category for the data collection.
    Custom Fields
    Appears if a SuperAdmin, default technical owner, or Data Marketplace Administrator has configured custom fields for data collections. Depending on the configuration, the custom fields can be mandatory or optional.
    Note: If the admin has configured custom fields, they appear only for new data collections, not for existing data collections.
    7. Click Save.
    8. Go to the Data Sets section to modify the data sets that are part of the data collection.
    The page displays data sets and attributes associated with the data collection.
    9. In the Data Sets table, click Add to add data sets to the data collections.
    The Add Data Set dialog box appears.
    10. Select the required data set from the dropdown list. You can also search for data sets that match your requirement.
    11. Click View in Axon to view the data set in Axon Data Governance.
    The data set opens in a new tab.
    12. Click Save.
    The data set is added to the data collection. The attributes and data quality values related to the data set are added to the Data Sets table.
    13. To remove the data set from the data collection, click Ellipsis.
    The Remove Data Set dialog box appears.
    14. Click Remove.
    The data set is removed from the data collection. The attributes and data quality values related to data set are removed from the Data Sets table.
    15. To hide or show columns according to your requirement, click Gear icon icon.
    A pane displays the Reset and Download option.
    For example, you can choose to hide columns that contain details such as Axon status, Lifecycle, and Glossary Name and show columns that contain details such as ID, Ref., and Type.
    16. In the Attributes table, click Filters and select fields from the dropdown list.
    You can remove the selected fields according to your search criteria. You can select all the fields from the dropdown list.
    17. Click Clear Filter to remove the filters applied to the Attributes table.
    18. To attach usage guides and policies to the data collection, go to thePolicies.
    19. Click Add to attach usage guidelines in the Usage Guide sub-section.
    The Add Usage Guide dialog box appears.
    20. Select a usage guide from the dropdown list.
    Review the details of the selected usage guide.
    21. To add another usage guide, click Add Another.
    Another usage guide is added to the data collection.
    22. Click Save.
    23. In the Policies sub-section, click Add to attach the relevant policy.
    The Add Policy dialog box appears.
    24. Select the relevant policy from the dropdown list.
    Review the details of the selected policy.
    Note: When you enter keywords to search the policies, the dropdown list displays a maximum of 30 policies.
    25. To add more than one policy, click Add Another.
    Another policy is added to the data collection.
    26. Click Save.
    The page displays confirmation usage guides on the top followed by the information usage guides.
    27. To remove usage guide or policies from the data collection, click Ellipsis.
    You cannot remove an inherited policy from a data collection.
    Note: If a data collection does not contain a usage guide, data consumers cannot request access to the data collection.
Axon saves your changes to the data collection.
