Mapping Configuration Task Maintenance

You maintain Mapping Configuration tasks on the Mapping Configuration Tasks page.
You can view all Mapping Configuration tasks on the Mapping Configuration Tasks page. You can create tasks, copy tasks, delete tasks, and run tasks from the Mapping Configuration Tasks page. You can also download workflow XML.

Viewing Mapping Configuration Task Details

You can view details about a Mapping Configuration task, such as the mapping or integration template used by the task.
    bulletClick Task Wizards > Mapping Configuration, and then click the Mapping Configuration task name.
    The task details appear on the View Mapping Configuration Task page. To modify the Mapping Configuration task, you can click Edit.

Copying a Mapping Configuration Task

You can copy a Mapping Configuration task. You might copy a task to create a different task that uses the same mapping or integration template with different parameter values. Or, you might copy a task to test changes in the copy.
When you copy a task, the Mapping Configuration task creates a new task name. The Mapping Configuration task appends a number to the end of the task name. For example, if the original task name is Convert Dates, the new task name is Convert Dates_2.
Note: When you copy a task with a schedule, the schedule is removed from the copied task.
    1. Click Task Wizards > Mapping Configuration.
    2. Click the Make a Copy icon next to the task name.

Running a Mapping Configuration Task

You can run a Mapping Configuration task in the following ways:

Running a Mapping Configuration Task Manually

Run a Mapping Configuration task manually to immediately start the Mapping Configuration task. You might want to run a Mapping Configuration task manually for the following reasons:
When you start a Mapping Configuration task manually, the activity monitor displays details about the task.
    1. Click Task Wizards > Mapping Configuration.
    2. On the Mapping Configuration Tasks page, click the Run Now icon for the Mapping Configuration task that you want to run.

Running a Mapping Configuration Task on a Schedule

Use a schedule to write data at a specified time or on regular intervals. Edit a Mapping Configuration task to change the schedule associated with it.
    1. To associate a schedule with a new Mapping Configuration task, click Task Wizards > Mapping Configuration > New, complete the preliminary wizard steps, and then click Schedule.
    To associate a schedule with an existing Mapping Configuration task, click Task Wizards > Mapping Configuration, click the name of the Mapping Configuration task, click Edit, and then click Schedule.
    2. Select a schedule in the Schedule area, or click New to create a schedule.

Stopping a Mapping Configuration Task

Click the Stop Job icon in the activity monitor to stop a Mapping Configuration task that is currently running.

Downloading Workflow XML

You can download the workflow XML for a Mapping Configuration task. You might download workflow XML to import the mapping into the Cloud Integration Template Designer or into PowerCenter.
    1. Click Task Wizards > Mapping Configuration.
    2. Click the Download Workflow XML icon next to the Mapping Configuration task name.
After you download the workflow XML file, you can import the file to the PowerCenter repository. For more information, see "Steps to Import Objects" in the Informatica PowerCenter Repository Guide.

Deleting a Mapping Configuration Task

You can delete a Mapping Configuration task at any time. If the Mapping Configuration task is currently running, the Mapping Configuration task completes the job and cancels all scheduled jobs that have not started.
You cannot delete a task if it is included in a task flow. You must remove a task from the task flow before you can delete the task. Before you delete a task, verify that no users in the organization plan to use it. You cannot retrieve a task after you delete it.
    1. Click Task Wizards > Mapping Configuration.
    2. Click the Delete icon next to the Mapping Configuration task name.
