You can collaborate with other users in Data Marketplace. This allows you to enhance the quality of data that is available in your organization's Data Marketplace, and allows you to extract more business value from your organization's data.
Collaboration on objects
You can add your comments to Data Marketplace objects. Other users in your organization can see the comments and provide their own inputs. Commenters can tag other users in the comments and involve them in the discussion. This allows the Data Marketplace users in your organization to collaborate on objects and make collective decisions on how to use the data to make business decisions.
You can add your comments to the following object types:
•Category
•Data collection
•Data asset
Note: You can add comments to only data assets that are native to Data Marketplace. To add comments to Data Governance and Catalog assets, open the asset in Data Governance and Catalog. For more information about how you can add comments to an asset in Data Governance and Catalog, see the Data Governance and Catalog help.

Prerequisites
To collaborate with users on category, data collection or data asset, verify one of the following prerequisites:
- Your user profile is assigned at least one of the predefined roles for Data Marketplace. For more information about the predefined roles for Data Marketplace, see Predefined roles.
- Your user profile is assigned a role for which the following privileges and permissions are enabled:
▪ Access Data Marketplace privilege is enabled in Administrator.
▪ Read permission is enabled in Metadata Command Center for categories, data collections or data assets.
To access the collaboration section of an object, click the Chat icon. In the Chat panel, you can enter your comments and can also tag a stakeholder in a comment. To tag a user in your comment, enter the @ symbol and search for the user with their name or email address. When you tag a user, they receive a notification so that they can join the discussion. If you want to edit your comments, hover your cursor over the comment that you want to edit and click the Edit icon. To access the advanced text formatting options or to add emoticons, click the Format Text icon.
Note: Ensure that the user you tagged is also assigned the necessary permissions and privileges. Without the privileges and permissions, they won't be able to access your comment despite receiving the notification for it.
Collaboration on the Setup page
On the Setup page, you can add your comments in the Chat panel. You can use this feature to simplify the process of customizing Data Marketplace to fit the needs of your organization.

Prerequisites
To collaborate with users on the Setup page , verify one of the following prerequisites:
- Your user profile is assigned one of the following roles:
▪ Delivery Owner
▪ Technical Administrator
▪ Data Marketplace Administrator
- Your user profile is assigned a role for which the Access Data Marketplace and View Set up page privileges are enabled in Administrator.
Each tab on the Setup page has a unique Chat panel. To access the collaboration section of an object, click the Chat icon. In the Chat panel, you can enter your comments. If you want to edit your comments, hover your cursor over the comment that you want to edit and click the Edit icon. To access the advanced text formatting options or to add emoticons, click the Format Text icon.
You can use the panel of the respective tab to collaborate with the stakeholders that responsible for configuring the settings on the tab. To tag a stakeholder in your comment, enter the @ symbol and search for the respective stakeholder from the list of users. You can use the name or email address to search for a user. When you tag a user, they receive a notification so that they can join the discussion. This feature allows you to collaborate with other stakeholders on various topics such as Marketplace appearance customization, terms of use definition, cost center configuration, and so on.
Note: Ensure that the user you tagged is also assigned the necessary privileges required to view the Setup page. Without the privileges and permissions, they won't be able to access your comment despite receiving the notification for it.
