Introduction and Getting Started > Permissions and privileges for Data Marketplace > Predefined roles

Predefined roles

Predefined user roles are system-defined roles that define access privileges to the services that your organization uses.
As an organization administrator, you can assign predefined roles to users and user groups based on the business need. Some asset permissions and feature privileges are enabled by default for predefined user roles. You cannot modify, rename, or delete system-defined roles.
The topics in this section explain the predefined roles that are available in Data Marketplace and the default feature permissions and privileges for each role.

Data Marketplace User

A Data User is a user that wants to use a data collection that is published to Data Marketplace. As a Data User, you can search for data collections that are published to Data Marketplace. To gain access to a collection, you must place an order. If an existing collection doesn't meet your requirements, you can submit a request for a new data collection. Any user in Data Marketplace can be a Data User.
