Step 5. Publish assets
You can publish assets that were fully converted or converted with issues. When you publish an asset, PC to Cloud Conversion makes the object available in Data Integration.
Perform the following tasks before you publish an asset:
- Verify that your organization has the required licenses.
- For example, to publish a mapping that contains a Salesforce source, your organization must have a license that includes Salesforce connectivity. If your organization does not have the required licenses, you cannot publish the asset.
- Review asset errors.
- Review the asset errors to determine whether you need to modify the asset after you publish it. For example, you might have to replace a placeholder Expression transformation in a mapping with other transformations before you can run the mapping task.
When you publish an asset, PC to Cloud Conversion publishes the asset and the dependent objects. For example, if you publish a session, PC to Cloud Conversion publishes the session as a mapping task, and it also publishes the dependent mapping.
PC to Cloud Conversion publishes each asset to a Data Integration project that has the same name as the PowerCenter repository. If the PowerCenter object is within a folder, the folder is maintained.
Publish an asset on the following pages:
- •To publish an asset on the asset details page, open the Actions menu in the row that contains the asset, and click Publish.
To publish multiple assets, enable the checkbox in the row that contains each asset, right-click a selected asset, and select Publish from the pop-up menu.
To set the runtime environment while publishing assets, select the available Runtime Environment from the drop down list of environments. Ensure that you set the runtime environment while publishing assets to create connections and to associate the mapping task or taskflow to the runtime environment.
To reuse existing dependent assets instead of overwriting the assets, select the Reuse dependent assets checkbox.
To tag the published Cloud Data Integration assets with custom tag values, enter the tag in the text box against the Asset Tag property. To add multiple tags, enter the tag names in a comma-separated list in the following format: customTag1,customTag2.
- •To publish an asset on the errors page, click Publish in the upper right corner.
