You can create dictionaries based on attributes of code lists. The dictionaries that you create in Reference 360 appear in Data Quality in the read-only mode. You can edit the dictionaries only in Reference 360.
Ensure that the code lists that you use to create dictionaries contain less than 10,000 code values.
Create a dictionary
Create a dictionary in a code list, and configure the properties of the dictionary.
1In the Explore panel, select a code list and click Open.
2Click the Dictionary tab.
3Click Add.
4In the Create Dictionary dialog box, specify the following properties:
aEnter a name.
bEnter a description for the dictionary.
cSelect the project or folder within which you want to save the dictionary.
dSelect at least two attributes that you want to add as columns in the dictionary.
When you select one attribute, Reference 360 duplicates the attribute as a second column in the dictionary.
eClick Create.
The dictionary that you create in Reference 360 appear in Data Quality in the read-only mode.
Synchronize data in dictionaries
After you create dictionaries in a code list, synchronize data to populate the dictionaries in Data Quality with the relevant code values. You must synchronize data to reflect any updates to the code values.
1In the Explore panel, select a code list and click Open.
2Click the Dictionary tab.
3Click the Synchronize icon.
Note: You can synchronize up to 10,000 code values in a code list. If the code list contains more than 10,000 code values, Reference 360 disables the Synchronize icon.
Re-create the dictionary
If a dictionary that's associated with the code list is deleted in Data Quality, you can either delete the dictionary or re-create it in Reference 360.
1In the Explore panel, select a code list and click Open.
2Click the Dictionary tab.
3Select the dictionary that was deleted in Data Quality.
4In the Details panel, click the Re-create icon.
The dictionary is re-created in Reference 360. The recreated dictionary appears in Data Quality.
