Field
Description
Reference ID
Reference identifier of the category.
Name

Description
Description of the category. You can refer to the description of a category to determine whether it contains the data collections that are relevant to you.
Status
Status of the category. A category can have one of the following statuses:
- Active. The category is discoverable to Data Users.
- Inactive. The category isn't discoverable to Data Users.
If the selected category has a direct or indirect parent category that is inactive, the selected category is effectively inactive even if the Status field indicates that is active. Data collections that belong to an effectively inactive category are not discoverable to Data Users on the Browse and Search pages.
A Data User that received access to a data collection that later belonged to an effectively inactive category can still navigate from the Data I Use page to the details page of the inactive category if the Data User is assigned Read permission in Metadata Command Center on inactive categories. Additionally, even if a Data User has opened the details page of an inactive category, Data Marketplace does not display the selected inactive category in the Browse panel.

If your category is a subcategory to another category, you can view its parent category in the Parent Category field.
